You don’t have to endure the cold or the crowds in traditional winter favorites like New York or Chicago to enjoy a spectacular Holiday season. Come play in the sun, sand and surf of South Florida, where an overcoat won’t hide your party dress and the fireworks have a tropical backdrop.
Snowfall on the Plaza: The snow might not be real, although it sure looks like the real thing, and the ice rink might be “ice-less,” but the fun of a winter wonderland at CityPlace is 100 percent genuine. CityPlace transforms into a tropical winter wonderland each year, and the nightly “Snowfalls” on the Plaza is part of the Downtown West Palm Beach tradition.
Christmas Spectacular at Dada: This Delray Beach lounge and restaurant is going all-out on December 23. From 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. there will be an open bar, and if that’s not enough there will be a snow machine turning the place into a winter wonderland as well as live music by Cog Nomen and Pans Permia. Everyone is encouraged to dress in their craziest Christmas costumes.
Jazz Takes a Holiday at Arts Garage: For those who want to know what a jazz version of The Nutcracker might sound like, Delray Beach’s Arts Garage has you covered. On December 23, the Dick Lowenthal Orchestra with Steve Leeds will be putting a jazz spin on all your favorite Christmas carols and Hanukkah anthems to get you in the Yuletide mood.
First Night 2016: Each year, Delray Beach hosts a New Year’s Eve celebration along Atlantic Avenue. The event is a fun-filled evening with performances and activities hosted by indoor and outdoor venues throughout the downtown area. The ideal locale for watching fireworks is near the Delray Beach 100-foot Christmas Tree.
